Safekeeping What We’ve Built Together
I'm Rachel Friend — an attorney, former Mayor Pro Tem of Boulder, and lifelong public servant. I'm running for Boulder County Treasurer because this office is the quiet backbone of everything we depend on — from our roads to our schools to our fire departments — and I want to ensure our County operations continue to run smoothly.
I've overseen budgets from $1 million to $500 million, led teams of hundreds of employees, and helped steer Boulder through responses to wildfires, a pandemic, and unspeakable tragedy. In a hundred discrete ways — some linear, some hard, all connected — my career has been building toward this work.
The Treasurer's Office should run so well in the background that you never have to think about it. That's the unglamorous but critical work I'm committed to delivering.
